On March 28th and 29th the first Morgenstadt Network Meeting of the year takes place in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. Fraunhofer researchers put together a diverse schedule to provide maximum benefits for all attendees. The Meeting will start in the evening of March 27th with an informal networking dinner at the well known restaurant Kazerne in downtown Eindhoven to give attendees the opportunity to share their thoughts about the latest smart city developments and connect with each other in a relaxed atmosphere.
On Wednesday 28th, the mayor of the host city will officially open the first Morgenstadt Meeting of the year followed by our researchers presenting some insights from current research projects of the Morgenstadt initiative and the underlying vision of the city of the future. Afterwards, the attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a couple of interactive formats to share their experiences and thoughts about Smart City developments before our new network partners, the Israeli city of Eilat and the municipality of the German city of Bremen will introduce themselves to the assembly. Last but not least there will be three different work sessions before lunch, devoted to three major topics within the Morgenstadt network: Overall technology trends, business models for start-ups and further developments for City Labs, the famous Fraunhofer research format to analyse cities holistically. After lunch, the host region will present their urban data strategy as well as future plans for IoT and then the group will have an opportunity to get insights from a couple of interesting Smart City projects in and around Eindhoven during different on-site visits, including the innovative Strijp-S district and the famous entertainment district Stratumseind. Subsequently researchers and attendees will get together at a networking dinner in the popular restaurant Dijk9 to conclude the evening.
On the second day all participants will get free admission to the well known BeyondData conference, one the world's leading events for urban data related topics. At the same time our researchers will present information on the latest developments within different Morgenstadt projects. In the afternoon different workshops related to certain key topics of the research project “Value of Urban Data“, going international or the Smart Society Academy, the official Fraunhofer qualification program for Smart City professionals. By popular demand, the Network Meeting will end with a wrap-up at approximatelly 3pm to make sure that attendees will have an opportunity for a convenient departure in the evening.
